Assassin’s Creed Series Begins Production in Italy
Netflix announced today that the Assassin’s Creed series has begun filming in Rome, Italy. The original story will be set in Rome, 64 AD. Production will primarily film at Cinecittà Studios.
The Assassin’s Creed production is expanding on the established Ancient Rome backlot to immerse filming in this time period.

The Assassin’s Creed series is a high-octane thriller centered on the secret war between two shadowy factions — one set on determining mankind’s future through control and manipulation, while the other fights to preserve free will.
The series follows its characters across pivotal historical events as they battle to shape humanity’s destiny.

The cast includes Lola Petticrew, Toby Wallace, Zachary Hart, Laura Marcus, Tanzyn Crawford, Nabhann Rizwan, Claes Bang, Noomi Rapace, Ramzy Bedia, Sean Harris, Corrado Invernizzi, Sandra Guldberg-Kampp, Youssef Kerkour, Mirren Mack, and Louis McCartney.
Roberto Patino (DMZ, Westworld, Sons of Anarchy) and David Wiener (Halo, Homecoming, The Killing) are the showrunners and executive producers of the new series.

The executive producers also include Gerard Guillemot, Margaret Boykin, Austin Dill, Genevieve Jones for Ubisoft Film & Television, and Matt O’Toole.
With more than 230 million units sold, the Assassin’s Creed franchise is one of the best-selling series in video game history and set an industry standard with its rich, engrossing storytelling.
