The cheerleaders and the iconic “Thunderstruck” routine that captivated the world are coming back. Netflix today announced that America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders has been renewed for a second season.
The Netflix cameras are currently following the Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders during the 2024 season, in which the football team has three wins and six losses so far.
After its premiere on June 20, 2024, America’s Sweethearts: Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders held strong with four weeks on Netflix’s weekly global Top 10 English TV List and remained in the Top 10 U.S. TV Shows for five weeks straight. The series reached the Top 10 TV list in 27 countries around the world.
From Emmy Award-winning director Greg Whiteley and the team behind Cheer and Last Chance U, the series will return to continue giving viewers unfiltered access to this iconic team and franchise. Season 2 will follow the 2024-25 Dallas Cowboys Cheerleaders squad from start to finish — kicking off at auditions and training camp and continuing all the way through the NFL season.
The show’s executive producers include Greg Whiteley and Adam Leibowitz of One Potato Productions, Andrew Fried and Dane Lillegard of Boardwalk Pictures, and Ross M. Dinerstein and Rebecca Evans of Campfire Studios.
