Wednesday Teaser Featuring the Addams Family

Netflix has revealed the official Wednesday teaser trailer and a featurette, which give you a first look at Tim Burton’s highly anticipated series. Featuring mayhem, mystery, and murder, the twisted new series drops this fall.

As you can see in the Wednesday teaser, the show is a sleuthing, supernaturally infused mystery charting Wednesday Addams’ (Jenna Ortega) years as a student at Nevermore Academy.

At the Academy, Wednesday attempts to master her emerging psychic ability, thwart a monstrous killing spree that has terrorized the local town, and solve the murder mystery that embroiled her parents 25 years ago – all while navigating her new and very tangled relationships at Nevermore.

The cast includes Gwendoline Christie (Principal Larissa Weems), Jamie McShane (Sheriff Galpin), Percy Hynes White (Xavier Thorpe), Hunter Doohan (Tyler Galpin), Emma Myers (Enid Sinclair), and Joy Sunday (Bianca Barclay).

Also starring are Naomi J Ogawa (Yoko Tanaka), Moosa Mostafa (Eugene Ottinger), Georgie Farmer (Ajax Petropolus), Riki Lindhome (Dr. Valerie Kinbott), and Christina Ricci (Marilyn Thornhill).

Catherine Zeta-Jones plays Morticia Addams, Luis Guzmán portrays Gomez Addams, and Isaac Ordonez is Pugsley Addams in the show.

The show is directed and executive produced by Tim Burton. Alfred Gough and Miles Millar are also executive producing and serve as showrunners and writers.

The executive producers also include Steve Stark, Andrew Mittman, Kevin Miserocchi, Kayla Alpert, Jonathan Glickman, Gail Berman, Tommy Harper, and Kevin Lafferty.

“When we first heard Al Gough and Miles Millar’s pitch for Wednesday, we were struck, like an arrow from a crossbow, right in our hearts. They nailed the tone, the spirit and the characters, but gave us a fresh way into this story,” said Teddy Biaselli, Director of YA/Family Series at Netflix, previously.

“We then got the call that visionary director and lifelong Addams Family fan Tim Burton wanted to make his television directorial debut with this series.

Biaselli added: “Tim has had a history of telling empowering stories about social outsiders like Edward Scissorhands, Lydia Deetz, and Batman. And now he brings his unique vision to Wednesday and her spooky classmates at Nevermore Academy.

“As Wednesday stans, my team and I feel an inherent responsibility to get this truly one-of-a-kind character right for both old fans and new. We’re confident this talented group will do her justice as she prepares for the dreaded underworld known as adulthood.”
