The Witcher Season 4 Premiere Date and First Look
Netflix has shared a first look at The Witcher Season 4, starring Liam Hemsworth as Geralt of Rivia. Consisting of eight 50-minute episodes, the fourth season will premiere on October 30, 2025.
In the new scene that was revealed, Geralt faces a wraith — a ghostly, vengeful spirit. Geralt’s sword proves useless against the spectral foe, so he uses his Witcher Signs: first Aard (to blast it back), then Yrden (to trap it in a magical cage).

With the wraith immobilized, Geralt reaches into its chest and crushes the dark, glowing mass at its core, causing the wraith to dissipate into black dust.
In addition to Liam Hemsworth replacing Henry Cavill in the lead role, the cast also includes Anya Chalotra (Yennefer of Vengerberg), Freya Allan (Princess Cirilla of Cintra), Joey Batey (Jaskier), Laurence Fishburne (Regis), Eamon Farren (Cahir), Anna Shaffer (Triss Merigold), and Mimî M Khayisa (Fringilla).

The cast list continues with Cassie Clare (Philippa), Mahesh Jadu (Vilgefortz), Meng’er Zhang (Milva), Graham McTavish (Dijkstra), Royce Pierreson (Istredd), Mecia Simson (Francesca), Sharlto Copley (Leo Bonhart), Danny Woodburn (Zoltan), Jeremy Crawford (Yarpen), Bart Edwards (Emhyr), and Hugh Skinner (Radovid).
The cast is rounded out by James Purefoy (Skellen), Christelle Elwin (Mistle), Fabian McCallum (Kayleigh), Juliette Alexandra (Reef), Ben Radcliffe (Giselher), Connor Crawford (Asse), Aggy K. Adams (Iskra), Linden Porco (Percival Schuttenbach), Therica Wilson-Read (Sabrina), Rochelle Rose (Margarita), and Safiyya Ingar (Keira).

Talking to the Netflix blog Tudum, showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich teases what’s ahead as the series heads toward its fourth and then fifth and final season. “One of the things we always say is that it wouldn’t be The Witcher if everything ended happily. This is the beginning of a two-season journey for our family to finally reunite and be together — hopefully forever.”
Hissrich added, “Show up, be willing to be surprised, be willing to accept that things look different, and know that the core of what you love is still there. We also have this amazing opportunity, halfway through a series, to relaunch it — to say, ‘Things are different, we’re coming out of the gate with a bang, and it’s bigger and better than ever.'”

After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys.
And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good…

The Witcher Seasons 4 and 5 will adapt the remaining Sapkowski books, Baptism of Fire, The Tower of the Swallow, and Lady of the Lake, promising an epic and satisfying conclusion to Netflix’s hit fantasy drama.
The writers include Lauren Schmidt Hissrich (401), Tania Lotia (402), Rae Benjamin (403), Troy Dangerfield (404), Matthew D’Ambrosio (405), Javier Grillo-Marxuach (406), Clare Higgins (407), and Mike Ostrowski (408).

The directors for The Witcher Season 4 are Sergio Mimica-Gezzan (401 & 402), Tricia Brock (403 & 404), Alex Garcia Lopez (405 & 406), and Jeremy Webb (407 & 408).
The executive producers include Steve Gaub, Mike Ostrowski, Javier Grillo-Marxuach, Tomek Baginski, and Jarek Sawko of Platige Films, and Jason Brown and Sean Daniel of Hivemind Content.
