The Breadwinner Trailer Featuring Nate Bargatze

Sony Pictures has released the official trailer and poster for the family comedy The Breadwinner, which opens in theaters on March 13, 2026. The Motion Picture Association has not yet rated the film.

Starring record-breaking comedian Nate Bargatze in his first feature film, The Breadwinner is a family comedy that follows the misadventures of Nate Wilcox, whose wife Katie (Mandy Moore) lands a once-in-a-lifetime deal on Shark Tank that takes her on a prolonged business trip – and now the lifelong breadwinner has to fend for his family as a first-time stay-at-home dad.

With three young daughters and little experience handling their day-to-day needs, Nate finds out quickly that running the household is the toughest gig he’s ever had.

Directed by Eric Appel, The Breadwinner stars Nate Bargatze, Mandy Moore (This Is Us), Colin Jost (Saturday Night Live), Zach Cherry (Fallout, Severance), Martin Herlihy, and Kate Berlant, with Kumail Nanjiani (Fallout, Poker Face) and Will Forte (The Last Man on Earth, Saturday Night Live).

Jeremy Latcham, Nate Bargatze, and Dan Lagana produced The Breadwinner. The executive producers include JoAnn Perritano, Michael Musgrave, and Tyler Zacharia. Nate Bargatze and Dan Lagana wrote the script.

The movie began principal photography on May 22, 2025, in Atlanta, Georgia.
