Today, Netflix announced the return of its global phenomenon, Squid Game, for a third and final season — premiering June 27, 2025.

Gone is the rainbow-hued track of Season 2’s six-legged pentathlon; in its place, a vivid swirling flower-pattern floor ominously foreshadows the cutthroat finale. The sinister silhouettes of Young-hee and her companion Cheol-su — first hinted at in last season’s post-credit scene — suggest that even more brutal games lie ahead.

Picking up where the second season left off, Season 3 explores the choices Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) will make amidst overwhelming despair.

Lee Byung-hun as Front Man

As the Front Man (Lee Byung-hun) plots his next move, the surviving players find their decisions leading to increasingly dire consequences with each round of the deadly games. This season promises to push the limits of suspense and drama, keeping viewers glued to the action.

Squid Game Season 2 became the third most-watched season on Netflix ever, garnering an impressive 68 million views upon its debut — breaking records for the most views in a premiere week — and ranking #1 in the Top 10 TV Series (Non-English) list across 92 countries. As the ultimate chapter unfolds, Season 3 promises to deliver a grand and unforgettable finale.

The show became a global sensation boosting interest in K-content; iconic moments went viral, Vans slip-on sneakers sales increased 8,000%; and Halloween costumes sold out around the world, shaping trends and solidifying its place in pop culture.

Park Gyu-young as Kang No-eul

Squid Game made Emmy history with first-ever wins for a non-English language show and Season 2 was nominated for a Golden Globe for Best Television Series – Drama. In 2023, Netflix debuted the Emmy-nominated and BAFTA-winning reality competition Squid Game: The Challenge.

The franchise continues to expand with Squid Game: The Experience, a touring activation where fans can play games inspired by the show, and with Squid Game: Unleashed, a multiplayer video game that is on track to become Netflix’s most downloaded game. Squid Game Seasons 1 and 2 are now streaming on Netflix, with the third and final season debuting on June 27, 2025.

Lee Byung-hun as Front man

The third and final season of Squid Game follows Gi-hun (Lee Jung-jae) after losing his best friend in the game and being driven to utter despair by The Front Man (Lee Byung-hun), who was hiding his true identity to infiltrate the game.
