Peaky Blinders Sequel Series Gets Two-Season Order

The much-loved series Peaky Blinders will return with a bang to Netflix and the BBC, telling the story of a new generation of Shelbys. The two new seasons, each featuring six 60-minute episodes, will be filmed at Digbeth Loc. Studios, Birmingham.

From writer and creator Steven Knight, the new seasons will be produced by Kudos (SAS Rogue Heroes, House of Guinness, Grantchester) and Garrison Drama (Peaky Blinders Seasons 1-6, the upcoming Peaky Blinders film). The seasons will be available on BBC iPlayer and BBC One in the UK, as well as on Netflix globally.

The timeline of the Peaky Blinders sequel series will follow on from the eagerly anticipated Peaky Blinders feature film, which is currently in post-production. Britain, 1953. After being heavily bombed in WWII, Birmingham is building a better future out of concrete and steel.

In the new era of Steven Knight’s Peaky Blinders, the race to own Birmingham’s massive reconstruction project becomes a brutal contest of mythic proportions. This is a city of unprecedented opportunity and danger, with the Shelby family right at its blood-soaked heart.

The executive producers of the new series include Steven Knight, Cillian Murphy, Karen Wilson, and Martin Haines for Kudos, Jamie Glazebrook for Garrison Drama, Jo McClellan and Danielle Scott Haughton for the BBC, and Mona Qureshi and Toby Bentley for Netflix.

Production for the two new Peaky Blinders seasons is supported by the West Midlands Combined Authority (WMCA) and marks the first commission following the new BBC partnership agreement with the WMCA and Create Central, which aims to expand BBC and partner production investment in the West Midlands.
