Mystery Road: Origin Season 2 First Look
Mystery Road: Origin, the prequel to the acclaimed Australian crime drama Mystery Road, returns for its second season Monday, March 23, on Acorn TV and AMC+.
This six-episode Acorn TV Original Series will drop additional episodes each Monday. Acorn TV and AMC+ today released the trailer and key art for the new season.

Mark Cole Smith (Beast of War) returns as a young Detective Jay Swan, who is still reeling from the events of last season and hoping for a fresh start. He and his wife, Mary (Tuuli Narkle, Territory), relocate to the remote town of Loch Iris, believing it will give them a chance to rebuild.
Instead, the move quickly takes a darker turn when Jay becomes drawn into a decades-old mystery involving secrets, murders, and unexplained disappearances. As his investigation deepens, long-buried truths begin to surface, threatening the present and the future he and Mary are trying to protect.

Clarence Ryan (Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga) also returns this season alongside a strong ensemble cast that includes Robyn Malcolm (The Survivors), Luke Carroll (Scrublands Silver), Aswan Reid (The New Boy), and Shantae Barnes-Cowan (The Redemption).
The cast also includes Geoff Morrell (Ice Road: Vengeance), Nicholas Bell (Bay of Fires), Alex Malone, Steve Le Marquand (Beast of War), Pippa Grandison (Population 1:1), Rarriwuy Hick (Kangaroo), Tammy Rock, Eloise Hart, Helen Morse, and more.

An Acorn TV Original, Mystery Road: Origin Season 2 is produced by Greer Simpkin and David Jowsey for Bunya Productions for the ABC, with major production investment from Screen Australia’s First Nations Department in association with Screen West and the Western Australian Screen Fund.
The second season was directed by Wayne Blair and Jub Clerc. The executive producers are Ivan Sen, Brett Sleigh, and Rachel Okine. The series is financed in association with Screen NSW, with All3Media International handling international sales.
