Jumanji: Open World Trailer Starts the Final Countdown
Sony Pictures has released the official trailer for Jumanji: Open World, which will open in theaters on December 25, 2026.
The action-adventure has not yet been rated by the Motion Picture Association, though the previous two Jumanji films were both rated PG-13 for adventure action, suggestive content, and some language.
This Christmas, Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan are reunited in Jumanji: Open World, the hilarious final installment of the globally beloved action-adventure trilogy.
In the movie, directed by Jake Kasdan, our heroes have escaped the perilous jungles of Jumanji before, but this time Jumanji breaks free of its console, unleashing its chaos into our world.
Written by Kasdan, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg, the new film also stars Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, Morgan Turner, Ser’Darius Blain, Rhys Darby, Nick Jonas, and Danny DeVito.
Based on the book Jumanji by Chris Van Allsburg, the movie is produced by Matt Tolmach, Jake Kasdan, Dwayne Johnson, Dany Garcia, and Hiram Garcia. The executive producers include Barry Waldman, Melvin Mar, William Teitler, Ted Field, Mike Weber, Chris Van Allsburg, Jeff Pinkner, and Scott Rosenberg.
A sequel to Jumanji (1995), Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle was the first installment starring Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, and Karen Gillan. It opened in December 2017 and grossed $962.5 million worldwide, with $404.5 million coming from North American theaters and $558 million from international markets.
Welcome to the Jungle was followed by Jumanji: The Next Level, which opened in December 2019 and earned $801.7 million at the global box office. The movie grossed $320.3 million domestically and $481.4 million internationally.
