Joker: Folie à Deux Max Streaming Debut Announced

Warner Bros. Pictures’ Joker: Folie à Deux will make its global streaming debut on Friday, December 13, exclusively on Max. The film will debut on HBO linear on Saturday, December 14, at 8:00 p.m. ET.

From writer, director, and producer Todd Phillips, Joker: Folie à Deux stars Joaquin Phoenix, once again in his Oscar-winning dual role as Arthur Fleck/Joker, opposite Oscar winner Lady Gaga (A Star Is Born).

Joker: Folie à Deux finds Arthur Fleck institutionalized at Arkham awaiting trial for his crimes as Joker. While struggling with his dual identity, Arthur not only stumbles upon true love, but also finds the music that’s always been inside him.

The film also stars Oscar nominees Brendan Gleeson (The Banshees of Inisherin) and Catherine Keener (Get Out, Capote), alongside Zazie Beetz, reprising her role from Joker.

The Joker sequel is coming to Max in December.

Oscar nominee Phillips directed Joker: Folie à Deux from a screenplay by fellow Oscar nominee Scott Silver & Phillips, based on characters from DC. The film was produced by Phillips, Oscar nominee Emma Tillinger Koskoff, and Joseph Garner.

Lady Gaga served as music consultant for the R-rated sequel. The film’s executive producers are Michael E. Uslan, Georgia Kacandes, Silver, Mark Friedberg, and Jason Ruder.

The Joker sequel is coming to Max in December.

Released in October 2019, Joker grossed $1.079 billion worldwide, with $335.5 million coming from North American theaters and $743.4 million from international markets. Joker: Folie à Deux earned $206.4 million globally this year, with $58.3 million coming from domestic theaters and $148.1 million from overseas.
