HBO Reveals First Look at Jesse Armstrong’s Mountainhead
HBO has released a first look at its Original film, Mountainhead, written, directed, and executive produced by seven-time Emmy winner and Oscar-nominated Jesse Armstrong (HBO’s Succession).
Mountainhead will premiere on Saturday, May 31, at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on HBO and will be available to stream on Max. The film finishes production this week in Park City, Utah, and marks Armstrong’s feature directorial debut.

In the movie, a group of billionaire friends get together against the backdrop of a rolling international crisis. The cast includes Steve Carell as Randall, Jason Schwartzman as Souper (Hugo Van Yalk), Cory Michael Smith as Venis, and Ramy Youssef as Jeff.
The additional supporting cast includes Hadley Robinson as Hester, Andy Daly as Casper, Ali Kinkade as Berry, Daniel Oreskes as Dr. Phipps, David Thompson as Leo, Amie MacKenzie as Janine, and Ava Kostia as Paula.

The HBO Original film is written and directed by Jesse Armstrong. It is executive produced by Jesse Armstrong, Frank Rich, Lucy Prebble, Jon Brown, Tony Roche, Will Tracy, Mark Mylod, and Jill Footlick.
“We’re ecstatic to be back in business with the singular talent Jesse Armstrong coming off our fruitful collaboration on ‘Succession.’ Jesse once again raises the bar with a bold examination of modern greed, power and male ambition,” said Francesca Orsi, Executive Vice President of HBO Programming and Head of HBO Drama Series and Films, when the film was announced.

Orsi added: “That this feature serves as his directorial debut will only elevate what is already thrilling on the page, and we couldn’t be more excited to share this timely film with the world soon.”
Jesse Armstrong added: “I’m intrigued to discover whether being around so many brilliant actors and directors on ‘Succession’ has in any way rubbed off on me. Let’s hope so. I’m grateful to Casey Bloys, Francesca Orsi, and the whole HBO team for backing this film so wholeheartedly and helping me pull together a dream team of cast and crew.”
