HBO Max August 2025 Movie and TV Titles Announced
Warner Bros. Discovery has announced the movies, TV shows, and live sports that will be available on the HBO Max streaming service in August. The HBO Max August 2025 lineup includes a new season of Peacemaker, the feature films Final Destination Bloodlines, Freaky Tales, and The Legend of Ochi, and the comedy special Marc Maron: Panicked.
The schedule includes the HBO Original sports documentary series Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills and the HBO Original documentary series The Yogurt Shop Murders.

Peacemaker Season 2 (Original Series)
The eight-episode season premieres on August 21 and episodes debut weekly at 9 p.m. ET until the finale on October 9.
In Season 2, Peacemaker discovers an alternate world where life is everything he wishes it could be. But this discovery also forces him to face his traumatic past and take the future into his own hands.
James Gunn wrote all eight episodes of Peacemaker Season 2 and directed three, including the first episode. Gunn, Peter Safran, and John Cena serve as executive producers. Greg Mottola, Peter Sollett, and Althea Jones also direct. Based on characters from DC, Peacemaker is produced by Gunn’s Troll Court Entertainment and The Safran Company in association with Warner Bros. Television.

Plagued by a violent recurring nightmare, college student Stefani heads home to track down the one person who might be able to break the cycle – her grandmother, Iris – and save her family from the grisly demise that inevitably awaits them all.
The Final Destination Bloodlines cast includes Kaitlyn Santa Juana, Teo Briones, Richard Harmon, Owen Patrick Joyner, Anna Lore, and Rya Kihlstedt, with Brec Bassinger and Tony Todd. The film was directed by Adam Stein & Zach Lipovsky.

Set in 1987 Oakland, Freaky Tales is a multi-track mixtape of colorful characters – an NBA star, a corrupt cop, a female rap duo, teen punks, neo-Nazis, and a debt collector – on a collision course in a fever dream of showdowns and battles.
The cast includes Pedro Pascal, Ben Mendelsohn, Jay Ellis, Normani, Dominique Thorne, Jack Champion, Ji-young Yoo, Angus Cloud, and Tom Hanks.

The Legend of Ochi (A24 Film)

In a remote village on the island of Carpathia, a shy farm girl named Yuri is raised to fear an elusive animal species known as ochi. But when Yuri discovers a wounded baby ochi has been left behind, she escapes on a quest to bring him home. The cast includes Helena Zengel and Finn Wolfhard, with Emily Watson and Willem Dafoe.

The Yogurt Shop Murders (HBO Original Documentary Series)
The four-episode series premieres on August 3 and episodes debut weekly at 10 p.m. ET until the finale on August 24.
In 1991, four teenage girls were brutally murdered at a frozen yogurt shop in Austin, Texas. What happened that night forever shook the Austin community and continues to mystify the police and haunt the families left in the wake of unthinkable loss.
Including interviews with the investigative teams, the victims’ parents and siblings, and the two men who served time for the crime, the series explores law enforcement practices and raises complex questions about press coverage and the power of suggestion on memory.
The series offers a unique window into the lasting effects of grief and the enduring impact of unrelenting crime coverage in mainstream media through poignant interviews with those closest to the crime and investigation.

Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills (HBO Original Sports Documentary Series)
The five episodes series premieres on August 5 and episodes debut weekly at 9 p.m. until the finale on September 2.
Hard Knocks: Training Camp with the Buffalo Bills marks the first time the iconic franchise has been selected to take part in the 19-time Sports Emmy-winning series. The series will be narrated by Liev Schreiber.
Head coach Sean McDermott and general manager Brandon Beane will be featured alongside the 2024 NFL Most Valuable Player, quarterback Josh Allen, and an array of veteran and rookie players training at St. John Fisher University in Pittsford, New York.
Winner of 141 Sports Emmy Awards, NFL Films remains a gold standard in premium sports content, providing an elevated and connected viewer experience with privileged access to the athlete story.
