Alongside Kravitz (upcoming The Batman), the film stars Byron Bowers (No Sudden Move), Jaime Camil (Schmigadoon), Erika Christensen (Traffic), Derek DelGaudio (Derek DelGaudio’s In & Of Itself), Robin Givens (Riverdale), Charles Halford (Logan Lucky), Devin Ratray (Side Effects), Jacob Vargas (The 33), with Rita Wilson (the Mamma Mia! films).

Soderbergh, whose most recent film for the streamer was the star-studded No Sudden Move and who is next returning for Magic Mike’s Last Dance, directed Kimi from a script by acclaimed screenwriter David Koepp. Soderbergh’s frequent collaborators, Michael Polaire and Koepp, produced.

Behind the scenes, Soderbergh was joined by his frequent collaborators, production designer Philip Messina (the Che films), costume designer Ellen Mirojnick (Logan Lucky, Behind the Candelabra), and composer Cliff Martinez (Contagion, Traffic).

From New Line Cinema and HBO Max, Kimi is rated R for violence, language, and brief sexuality.

New Line Cinema and HBO Max also announced a sixth installment of the Final Destination franchise that will be produced by Spider-Man: No Way Home director Jon Watts (upcoming Fantastic Four) and his wife, Dianne McGunigle, alongside Craig Perry and Sheila Hanahan Taylor.

Lori Evans Taylor (Wicked Wicked Games) and Guy Busick (Scream) are writing the screenplay based on a treatment by Watts.

“Both Dianne and I have been massive fans of Final Destination from the very beginning,” said Watts. “So to be able to have a hand in crafting a new story with the original team and New Line is going to be both fun and exciting.”

“Jon and Dianne’s passion for the series is only matched by how much fun they are to work with,” Perry said. “Sheila and I couldn’t be more excited to have their creative energy driving this latest installment in the Final Destination franchise with New Line. With Guy and Lori’s inspired execution of Jon’s original idea, we have a movie that audiences are gonna love.”

And last but certainly not least, award-winning actress, writer, and activist Sharon Stone has joined the second season of The Flight Attendant as a recurring guest star.

Stone will play Lisa Bowden, Cassie’s (Kaley Cuoco) estranged mother who would prefer to stay estranged. After a lifetime of dealing with Cassie’s alcoholism, she no longer has any patience or goodwill to spare.

Season one, currently available on HBO Max, was nominated for nine Emmys, winning for Outstanding Original Main Title Theme Music.

Season two of The Flight Attendant finds Cassie Bowden (Cuoco) living her best sober life in Los Angeles while moonlighting as a CIA asset in her spare time. But when an overseas assignment leads her to witness a murder inadvertently, she becomes entangled in another international intrigue.
