East of Eden First Look Featuring Florence Pugh

Netflix has shared a first look at East of Eden, the upcoming adaptation of John Steinbeck’s 1952 novel of the same name. The seven-episode series is coming to Netflix this fall.

Starring Florence Pugh as Cathy Ames, Christopher Abbott as Adam Trask, and Mike Faist as Charles Trask, East of Eden is a gripping new limited series adapted by Zoe Kazan.

This fresh interpretation of Steinbeck’s masterpiece explores the timeless story of good & evil through the multigenerational saga of the Trask family and its chilling, indelible antihero, Cathy Ames.

The East of Eden cast also includes Hoon Lee as Lee, Tracy Letts as Cyrus Trask, Martha Plimpton as Faye, Ciarán Hinds as Samuel Hamilton, Joseph Zada as Cal Trask, and Joe Anders as Aron Trask.

Director Garth Davis (Lion, Mary Magdalene) helmed Episodes 1–4, and Laure de Clermont-Tonnerre (The Mustang, Lady Chatterley’s Lover, The Act) directed Episodes 5–7.

Jeb Stuart (Liberator, Vikings: Valhalla, The Fugitive) served as executive producer and co-showrunner alongside Kazan.

The executive producers also include Florence Pugh (Dune: Part Three), Antoine Douiahy, Zack Hayden, Steve Golin, David Levine, and Jill Arthur. FIFTH SEASON and Anonymous Content are the studios behind the series.
