Boston Blue and Sheriff Country Get Season 2 Orders

CBS has announced season two renewals for the new hit series Boston Blue and Sheriff Country for the 2026-2027 season. Since both series premiered on Friday, October 17, CBS has won every Friday night in total viewers.

Boston Blue has averaged 8 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings, with streaming alone up 87% from Blue Bloods last fall, and is consistently a time-period winner at 10:00 pm Fridays.

Sheriff Country has averaged 7.6 million viewers in Nielsen live plus 7-day multiplatform ratings, up 33% vs. the S.W.A.T. season average, and is consistently a time-period winner at 8:00 pm Fridays.

“Two new shows on Friday night have become instant hits, with audiences quickly embracing Boston Blue and Sheriff Country across broadcast and streaming,” said Amy Reisenbach, president of CBS Entertainment.

Set in small-town Edgewater, Calif., Sheriff Country follows Sheriff Mickey Fox as she investigates criminal activity while navigating complex family dynamics. Airing on Fridays from 8:00-9:00 pm ET/PT, the CBS Studios series stars Morena Baccarin, Matt Lauria, W. Earl Brown, Christopher Gorham, and Michele Weaver.

The executive producers of Sheriff Country include Max Thieriot, Tony Phelan, Joan Rater, and Matt Lopez, as well as Jerry Bruckheimer and KristieAnne Reed for Jerry Bruckheimer Television.

Boston Blue follows former NYPD Detective Danny Reagan as he joins the Boston Police Department and partners with Detective Lena Silver.

Airing on Fridays from 10:00-11:00 pm ET/PT, the CBS Studios series stars Donnie Wahlberg, Sonequa Martin-Green, Gloria Reuben, Maggie Lawson, Marcus Scribner, Mika Amonsen, and Ernie Hudson.
