Sony Pictures has revealed the new Zombieland: Double Tap poster, which you can view in the gallery below. With the studio’s Once Upon a Time… in Hollywood opening in theaters on Friday, there’s a good chance we’ll get to see the first trailer as well, but that’s not confirmed yet.
Zombieland: Double Tap sees the return of Jesse Eisenberg, Woody Harrelson, Emma Stone, and Abigail Breslin to their roles, and also features newcomers Zoey Deutch, Avan Jogia and Rosario Dawn.
The sequel will take the four heroes from the White House to the American heartland as they face off against new kinds of zombies that have evolved since the first movie, as well as some new human survivors.
Zombieland: Double Tap has been set for an October 18, 2019 release, which means the new movie will open in theaters about 10 years after the original. The first film hit theaters in October 2009 and grossed $102.4 million worldwide ($75.6 million in North America). It cost less than $24 million to make.
Zombieland director Ruben Fleischer (Venom) is directing again and the original film’s writers, Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, are also back and executive producing as well. Gavin Polone is back to produce.
