A24 has released the trailer for Saint Maud, an unholy vision from acclaimed filmmaker Rose Glass coming to theaters in the spring of 2020. A24 is know for such films as The Witch, Hereditary and Midsommar.
The debut film from writer/director Rose Glass, Saint Maud is a chilling and boldly original vision of faith, madness, and salvation in a fallen world. Maud, a newly devout hospice nurse, becomes obsessed with saving her dying patient’s soul — but sinister forces, and her own sinful past, threaten to put an end to her holy calling.
The film stars Morfydd Clark, Jennifer Ehle, Lilly Frazer, Lily Knight, Marcus Hutton, Turlough Convery, and Rosie Sansom.
Saint Maud had its world premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 8, 2019. It also screened at Fantastic Fest on September 19, 2019 and the BFI London Film Festival on October 5, 2019 It is scheduled to be released in the UK on May 1, 2020 by StudioCanal.
The film was developed by Escape Plan Productions and fully financed by Film4 Productions and the British Film Institute. The producers are Andrea Cornwell and Oliver Kassman.
