Young Sheldon and The Big Bang Theory Crossover Planned

Three actors from Young Sheldon, the spinoff of The Big Bang Theory, will make a crossover to its parent show, according to Deadline. Iain Armitage, who plays the younger version of the Jim Parson’s character from The Big Bang Theory, Lance Barber, who plays George, and Montana Jordan, who plays Georgie, will make a cameo appearance in an upcoming episode. They will play their Young Sheldon characters and the episode will air in December on CBS.

There is no word yet on what the storyline for the crossover episode will be. Young Sheldon is the story of a young Sheldon Cooper, the character that Jim Parsons has won Emmy Awards for. The series is narrated by Parsons as the adult Sheldon. Laurie Metcalfe plays Sheldon’s mother in The Big Bang Theory and her real-life daughter Zoe Perry plays the younger version of his mother in Young Sheldon. This is not the only time we’ve seen characters from the two series at different ages. Jerry O’Connell played George Jr. in The Big Bang Theory, and we’ve seen Robert Wu as the adult version of Sheldon’s childhood friend Tam.

Young Sheldon airs on Thursdays at 8:30 PM, after The Big Bang Theory. The series is executive produced by Chuck Lorre, Steven Molaro, Jim Parsons and Todd Spiewak. It is produced by Chuck Lorre Productions, Inc. alongside Warner Bros. Television.

In the show, Sheldon Cooper begins high school at the age of nine in his home in Texas, and has to deal with some of the things the adult Sheldon has told his friends (and the audience) about in episodes of The Big Bang Theory.
