Xbox Announces Next-Gen Console Project Scarlett

During its E3 2019 Briefing, Xbox revealed its next-gen console Project Scarlett, which will launch Holiday 2020 alongside Halo Infinite.

The new console will set a new bar for power, speed and performance. Powered by a custom-designed processor, leveraging the latest Zen 2 and Radeon RDNA architecture from their partners at AMD, Project Scarlett will deliver a new level of immersion.

Paired with high bandwidth GDDR6 memory, and a next generation solid state drive (SSD), the console will provide developers the power they require to bring their creative visions to life.

Featuring hardware accelerated raytracing, variable refresh rate, 8K capability and ultra-low latency input, Project Scarlett will deliver a new level of fidelity, precision and accuracy never before seen in console gaming.

The Master Chief returns in Halo Infinite – the next chapter of the legendary franchise launching holiday 2020. Developed by 343 Industries for Xbox One, Windows 10, and Project Scarlett, Halo Infinite continues the Halo 5: Guardians storyline and takes the franchise in ambitious, unexpected directions.

The game will be powered by the all-new Slipspace Engine; built from the ground up to power the future of the game.

Chris Lee, Studio Head of Halo Infinite, has talked a lot more about the game in a new feature article you can read by clicking here.
