Watch the Trailer for the HBO Series Chernobyl

HBO has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming five-part miniseries Chernobyl, starring Jared Harris, Stellan Skarsgård, and Emily Watson. You can check out the trailer for the series below and scroll down for our photo gallery.

On April 26, 1986, the Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant in Ukraine, Soviet Union suffered a massive explosion that released radioactive material across Belarus, Russia and Ukraine and as far as Scandinavia and western Europe. Chernobyl dramatizes the story of the 1986 accident, one of the worst man-made catastrophes in history, and the sacrifices made to save Europe from the unimaginable disaster. Chernobyl premieres May 6 on HBO.

The series was written and executive produced by Craig Mazin and directed by Johan Renck. The series was produced by Sister Pictures and The Mighty Mint as an HBO/Sky co-production. Carolyn Strauss and Jane Featherstone executive produce. Johan Renck and Chris Fry co-executive produce, and Sanne Wohlenberg produces.

The miniseries also stars Paul Ritter as Chernobyl deputy chief engineer Anatoly Dyatlov, Jessie Buckley as Lyudmilla Ignatenko, a Pripyat resident married to a firefighter on the first response team, Adrian Rawlins as Chernobyl chief engineer Nikolai Fomin, and Con O’Neill as plant director Viktor Bryukhanov.
