The Road to F9 event celebrates the upcoming ninth chapter in the Fast & Furious series and will feature the world premiere of the trailer. Tyrese Gibson and Maria Menounos will host. Global superstars Cardi B, Wiz Khalifa & Charlie Puth, Ozuna and Ludacris are set to perform.
There will be special appearances by franchise stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Jordana Brewster and Nathalie Emmanuel, as well as newcomer to the Fast & Furious family, John Cena, and director Justin Lin.
Summer 2020 is the time for F9, the ninth chapter in The Fast Saga that has endured for almost two decades and has earned more than $5 billion around the world. Universal Pictures will open the anticipated ninth installment in theaters on May 22, 2020.
Directed by Justin Lin, who helmed the third, fourth, fifth and sixth chapters of the series when it transformed into a global blockbuster, the film stars Vin Diesel, Michelle Rodriguez, Tyrese Gibson, Chris “Ludacris” Bridges, Jordana Brewster, Nathalie Emmanuel, Oscar winner Charlize Theron and Oscar winner Helen Mirren.
Dan Casey wrote the screenplay from a story by Lin. F9 is produced by Neal H. Moritz, Vin Diesel, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Joe Roth, Justin Lin, Clayton Townsend and Samantha Vincent.
Lin will also direct the 10th installment of The Fast Saga, which is coming to theaters on April 2, 2021.
The Fast Saga has earned $5.89 billion through nine films, including the spinoff Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw. Hobbs & Shaw grossed $759 million at the worldwide box office earlier this year, with $173.8 million coming from North America and $585.1 million from international markets.
