Netflix has shared a first look at Unstable Season 2, which will launch on the streaming service on August 1, 2024. The second season consists of eight 30-minute episodes.
In the second season, Ellis (Rob Lowe) lays out a series of challenges and mind games for Jackson (John Owen Lowe) to see if he has what it takes to succeed him as the heir to the Dragon empire, but does a newcomer have other ideas?
The showrunner of Unstable Season 2 is Andrew Gurland, who executive produces with Rob Lowe, John Owen Lowe, Sean Clements, Claire Scanlon, and Victor Fresco.
Along with both Lowes, returning cast members include Sian Clifford as Ellis’ CFO and No. 1 confidant Anna, Rachel Marsh as shy scientist Luna, Emma Ferreira as outgoing scientist Ruby, and Aaron Branch as Jackson’s childhood best friend and Dragon Company project manager Malcolm.
Season 2 will also include new faces, including recurring guest stars Lamorne Morris (Fargo) and Iris Apatow (The Bubble). Morris will play Peter, the charismatic founder of a biotech start-up whose rising star manages to stoke the already intense rivalry between Ellis and Jackson.
Meanwhile, Apatow will portray Georgia, Anna’s irreverent ex-stepdaughter turned unwilling Dragon intern. Georgia copes with office life by stirring up trouble and making Anna’s life more difficult whenever possible. Fred Armisen, Frank Gallegos, JT Parr, Tom Allen, and Sean Clements will also recur.
Andrew Gurland (Married, Platonic) is the executive producer and showrunner, and Claire Scanlon (Set It Up) is the executive producer and director. Sean Clements also executive produces.
“It’s a dream come true for us to jump back into the world of Unstable,” said Robe Lowe and John Owen Lowe. “Here’s to season two and the many hours of family therapy we will need along the way.”
