Paramount+ today released the official teaser trailer for the streaming service’s upcoming original series Tulsa King, starring Academy Award nominee Sylvester Stallone. The service also announced a series order for a new young adult drama, School Spirits.

Creator and Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan serves as executive producer of Tulsa King alongside Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Terence Winter (The Sopranos, The Wolf of Wall Street), who also serves as showrunner and writer.

Produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, Tulsa King will premiere with two episodes on Sunday, November 13, on Paramount+. The series follows New York mafia capo Dwight “The General” Manfredi (Stallone) just after he is released from prison after 25 years and unceremoniously exiled by his boss to set up shop in Tulsa, Okla.

Realizing that his mob family may not have his best interests in mind, Dwight slowly builds a “crew” from a group of unlikely characters to help him establish a new criminal empire in a place that, to him, might as well be another planet.

Tulsa King also stars Andrea Savage (I’m Sorry), Martin Starr (Silicon Valley), Max Casella (The Tender Bar), Domenick Lombardozzi (The Irishman), Vincent Piazza (Boardwalk Empire), Jay Will (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), A.C. Peterson (Superman & Lois) and Garrett Hedlund (The United States vs. Billie Holiday).

The series is executive produced by Sheridan, Winter, Stallone, David C. Glasser, Ron Burkle, Bob Yari, David Hutkin, Allen Coulter, and Braden Aftergood.

Mirroring the successful 2021 launches of 1883 and Mayor of Kingstown, Paramount Network will air a linear sneak peek of Tulsa King‘s debut episode on Nov. 13 as a special simulcast event immediately following the highly-anticipated season five premiere of Yellowstone. Similarly, the second episode of Tulsa King will air behind Yellowstone on Nov. 20.

All remaining episodes will be available to stream weekly on Sundays, exclusively on Paramount+. Tulsa King will also premiere on Paramount+ in Canada on Nov.13, followed by a premiere in Australia and the U.K. on Nov. 14. The series will air later this year on Paramount+ in Latin America and in additional territories upon the launch of the service.

School Spirits, meanwhile, is based on the upcoming graphic novel by Nate & Megan Trinrud and Maria Nguyen. Produced by the Awesomeness Live-Action Studio, the eight-episode season is set to star Peyton List (Cobra Kai, Bunk’d).

Oliver Goldstick (Pretty Little Liars, Bridgerton) is serving as showrunner and executive producer, along with Nate and Megan Trinrud, who wrote the pilot. Max Winkler (Cruel Summer, Jungleland) is directing the pilot. The series will premiere on Paramount+ on a date to be announced.

School Spirits (working title) focuses on a teen stuck in the afterlife who decides to investigate her mysterious disappearance alongside a group of other students who are also stuck in limbo at their high school.

The graphic novel is planned for publication in fall 2023 by Clarion Books/HarperAlley, an imprint of HarperCollins Children’s Books.

The project joins Paramount+’s growing lineup of YA content, including the service’s hit iCarly series revival, as well as the upcoming film Honor Society starring Angourie Rice (Spider-Man: No Way Home, Mare of Easttown). Both projects were also produced by Paramount’s Nickelodeon and Awesomeness Live-Action Studios.

Production of School Spirits is overseen by Shauna Phelan and Zack Olin, executive vice presidents and co-heads of Nickelodeon and Awesomeness.
