True Detective: Night Country Starts Production

HBO announced today that production is underway in Iceland on the Original drama series True Detective: Night Country, which will serve as the fourth season. HBO also shared a page from the first episode’s script, which you can view below.

The series stars Jodie Foster, Kali Reis, John Hawkes, Christopher Eccleston, Fiona Shaw, Finn Bennett, Anna Lambe, Aka Niviâna, Isabella Star Lablanc, and Joel D. Montgrand.

When the long winter night falls in Ennis, Alaska, the eight men who operate the Tsalal Arctic Research Station vanish without a trace.

To solve the case, detectives Liz Danvers (Jodie Foster) and Evangeline Navarro (Kali Reis) must confront their pasts and the dark truths lying underneath the Arctic ice.

The showrunner, writer, director (all episodes), and executive producer of True Detective: Night Country is Issa López. In addition to being starring, Jodie Foster is also an executive producer for HBO.

The executive producers also include Barry Jenkins for PASTEL, Adele Romanski and Mark Ceryak for PASTEL, Mari Jo Winkler, Chris Mundy, Alan Page Arriaga (who also writes), Steve Golin, and Richard Brown.

Executive producing as well are Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson, Cary Joji Fukunaga, and Nic Pizzolatto.

The True Detective: Night Country producers are Princess Daazhraii Johnson, Cathy Tagnak Rexford, and Sam Breckman.
