Bumblebee’s Travis Knight to Direct Six Billion Dollar Man


Bumblebee and Kubo and the Two Stringsdirector Travis Knight has been hired to direct Mark Wahlberg in Warner Bros. Pictures’ The Six Billion Dollar Man, according to Variety.

Travis Knight will direct from a script by Bill DuBuque, whose credits include The AccountantA Family ManThe Judge, and the TV series Ozark. The producers are Sue Kroll, Bill Gerber and Steve Levinson.

The Six Billion Dollar Man is based on the 1970s series The Six Million Dollar Man, which starred Lee Majors. Major played former astronaut Colonel Steve Austin, who had superhuman strength due to bionic implants and is employed as a secret agent by a fictional U.S. government office titled OSI.

The series was based on Martin Caidin’s novel Cyborg.

Bumblebee opened in theaters on December 21, 2018 and earned $466.9 million worldwide on a budget of $135 million.
