With one year to go until Charlie’s Angels opens in theaters on November 1, 2019, director, co-writer, producer and star Elizabeth Banks is giving moviegoers a preview of the Townsend Agency in the film.
Pictured in her post below are the front and back of a fancy business card for the Townsend Agency. If you call the number, you’ll hear the following message.
“You have reached the Charles Townsend Agency. Please leave your name and nature of your problem. Should the need arise, we will find you. Good day.”
The Sony Pictures release takes the detective agency premise of the original television series and turn-of-the century movies and takes it global, with the Townsend Agency now a worldwide security and intelligence service that has teams around the planet. The movie will focus on one of those teams and the next generation of Angels.
Charlie’s Angels will feature Kristen Stewart, Naomi Scott (upcoming Aladdin, Power Rangers), and newcomer Ella Balinska as the angels. Sir Patrick Stewart, Djimon Hounsou, Sam Claflin, Jonathan Tucker and Luis Gerardo Méndez are also on board. In addition to directing and playing Bosley, Elizabeth Banks is producing and co-wrote the film with Jay Basu as well.
Charlie’s Angels filming started in September. Banks is producing with Max Handelman through their Brownstone Productions, along with Doug Belgrad and Elizabeth Cantillon.
Charlie’s Angels was first a TV series from 1976 to 1981 that starred Kate Jackson, Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith and Cheryl Ladd. Two movies were also made in 2000 and 2003 starring Cameron Diaz, Drew Barrymore and Lucy Liu.
