The Witcher Season 2 Photos Reveal Geralt’s New Armor

-

Netflix has provided us with the first The Witcher Season 2 photos, which give you a first look at Geralt of Rivia (Henry Cavill) wearing the new armor. In addition to The Witcher Season 2 photos below, the streaming service is teasing a look at Princess Cirilla (Freya Allan) and Yennefer of Vengerberg (Anya Chalotra) is coming this week as well.

The Witcher Season 2 is currently in production in the UK. Joey Batey (Knightfall, Strike) will also return as fan-favorite Jaskier.

Released on December 20, 2019, the eight-episode first season of The Witcher was watched by an impressive 76 million households in its first month.

Joining The Witcher series are Kim Bodnia (Killing Eve) as Vesemir, the Continent’s oldest and most experienced Witcher, Yasen Atour (Young Wallender) as Coen, Agnes Bjorn as Vereena, Paul Bullion (Peaky Blinders) as Lambert, Basil Eidenbenz (Victoria) as Eskel, Aisha Fabienne Ross (The Danish Girl) as Lydia, Kristofer Hivju (Game of Thrones) as Nivellen, and recent graduate Mecia Simson, as Francesca.

Other returning cast members include MyAnna Buring (Kill List) as Tissaia, Tom Canton (Good Karma Hospital) as Filavandrel, Lilly Cooper (Peterloo) as Murta, Jeremy Crawford (Titans) as Yarpin Zigrin, Eamon Farren (Twin Peaks) as Cahir, and Mahesh Jadu (Marco Polo) as Vilgefortz.

Based on the best-selling fantasy series of books, The Witcher series is an epic tale of fate and family. Geralt of Rivia, a solitary monster hunter, struggles to find his place in a world where people often prove more wicked than beasts. But when destiny hurtles him toward a powerful sorceress, and a young princess with a dangerous secret, the three must learn to navigate the increasingly volatile Continent together.

Earlier this summer, Netflix also announced The Witcher: Blood Origin, a limited series from The Witcher universe. The Witcher: Blood Origin will be a six part, live-action limited series, and a prequel to the hit Netflix series The Witcher.

Set in an elven world 1200 years before the world of The Witcher, Blood Origin will tell a story lost to time – the origin of the very first Witcher, and the events that lead to the pivotal “conjunction of the spheres,” when the worlds of monsters, men, and elves merged to become one.

Declan de Barra will act as Executive Producer and Showrunner and Lauren Schmidt Hissrich will act as Executive Producer.

Andrzej Sapkowski will serve as creative consultant on the series. Jason Brown and Sean Daniel from Hivemind, and Tomek Baginski and Jarek Sawko from Platige Films will all serve as executive producers.

Blood Origin will tell the tale of the Elven civilization before its fall, and most importantly reveal the forgotten history of the very first Witcher. The Witcher: Blood Origin will shoot in the UK.
