Disney+ announced today that The Mandalorian Season 2 release date has been set for October 30, 2020. In making the announcement, the streaming service said “This is the day. New episodes start streaming October 30 on Disney+.”
The Mandalorian stars Pedro Pascal (Narcos) in the title role as a lone Mandalorian gunfighter, alongside Gina Carano (Deadpool), Giancarlo Esposito (Breaking Bad), Emily Swallow (Supernatural), Carl Weathers (Predator), Omid Abtahi (American Gods), Ming-Na Wen (Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), Werner Herzog (Grizzly Man), and Nick Nolte (Warrior).
Temuera Morrison is joining the second season as Boba Fett. The actor previously played Jango Fett and his clone troopers in Star Wars: Episode II Attack of the Clones, as well as the clone troopers in Star Wars: Episode III Revenge of the Sith.
Boba Fett (played by Jeremy Bulloch), a clone of Jango Fett, was a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader to capture Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.
It was also previously announced that Michael Biehn is playing what is said to be a bounty hunter, and Rosario Dawson is expected to play fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano.
The Mandalorian is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, with Dave Filoni(Star Wars: The Clone Wars, Star Wars Rebels) directing the first episode and serving as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson.
Additional episodic directors of the first season included Deborah Chow (Jessica Jones), Rick Famuyiwa (Dope), Bryce Dallas Howard (Solemates), and Taika Waititi (Thor: Ragnarok).
Joining the directors list for the second season are Peyton Reed and Robert Rodriguez directing episodes.
The first season premiered on the streaming service on November 12, 2019 and was a major success for Disney+.
