Boba Fett (played by Jeremy Bulloch), a clone of Jango Fett, was a bounty hunter hired by Darth Vader to capture Han Solo in Star Wars: Episode V The Empire Strikes Back.

It was also previously announced that Michael Biehn is playing what is said to be a bounty hunter, and Rosario Dawson is expected to play fan-favorite character Ahsoka Tano.

The Mandalorian is written and executive produced by Jon Favreau, with Dave Filoni(Star Wars: The Clone WarsStar Wars Rebels) directing the first episode and serving as executive producer alongside Kathleen Kennedy and Colin Wilson.

The first season premiered on the streaming service on November 12, 2019 and was a major success for Disney+.

The first season is officially described as follows: “After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. ‘The Mandalorian’ is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
