“With ample humor and heart, Devon Greggory reimagined an iconic series, brought back beloved legacy characters, and introduced new fan favorites,” said Nicole Clemens, President of Paramount+ Original Scripted Series.

“As Tasha Mack says, ‘game recognizes game,’ and audiences continue to discover the series on Paramount+. We look forward to what Devon and his team have in store for us next season on and off the field.”

The Game

The 10-episode first season of The Game, which is available to stream exclusively on Paramount+, is executive produced by showrunner and writer Devon Greggory, original show creator Mara Brock Akil, Salim Akil, and original executive producer Kelsey Grammer and Tom Russo of Grammnet NH Productions.

The series is produced by CBS Studios, Inphiniti Entertainment, Akil Productions, and Grammnet NH Productions. The original seasons of The Game, which aired on The CW and then on BET, are also currently available to binge on Paramount+.

Mayor of Kingstown

The hit series Mayor of Kingstown, produced by MTV Entertainment Studios and 101 Studios, will also be back for a second season. The original drama series, hailing from Yellowstone co-creator and Academy Award nominee Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon, is the service’s second-most-watched original series.

Mayor of Kingstown first launched in November 2021 with TV’s #1 show, Yellowstone, serving as a launchpad airing a special simulcast event for the series’ premiere on Paramount Network.

Mayor of Kingstown

Mayor of Kingstown follows the McLusky family, power brokers in Kingstown, Mich., where the business of incarceration is the only thriving industry. Tackling themes of systemic racism, corruption, and inequality, the series provides a stark look at their attempt to bring order and justice to a town that has neither.

Season one featured an all-star cast, including Academy Award nominee Jeremy Renner, Academy Award winner Dianne Wiest, Emmy Award winner Kyle Chandler, Hugh Dillon, Taylor Handley, Emma Laird, Tobi Bamtefa, Derek Webster, Hamish Allan-Headley, Pha’rez Lass and Aidan Gillen.

“With Mayor of Kingstown, Taylor Sheridan and Hugh Dillon offer a nuanced portrayal of the United States’ harsh prison system,” said Tanya Giles, Chief Programming Officer, ViacomCBS Streaming.

“The stellar crew and cast, including Jeremy Renner and Dianne Wiest, delivered a thought-provoking, intense drama that kept audiences captivated and yearning for more. We are thrilled to be the home of the expanding Taylor Sheridan universe, and we look forward to bringing fans back to Kingstown next season.”

SEAL Team

“Mayor of Kingstown is such an important project that offers a comprehensive look into the brutal prison system, and I am thrilled to continue the journey with Taylor and team for season two,” said executive producer Antoine Fuqua. “Thank you to our partners at Paramount+, 101 Studios and MTV Entertainment Studios for believing in us to further explore this story.”

“We are thrilled that shows like Mayor of Kingstown – original stories with layered characters and important themes – are able to thrive on Paramount+,” said executive producer David C. Glasser. “We can’t wait to delve back into the lives of the McLusky family for season two.”

SEAL Team

Paramount+ today also announced the renewal of the hit military drama SEAL Team for a sixth season. The series follows the professional and personal lives of the most elite unit of Navy SEALs, as they train, plan, and execute the most dangerous, high-stakes missions our country can ask of them.

David Boreanaz stars as Jason Hayes, the respected and intense team leader, alongside Max Thieriot, Neil Brown Jr., AJ Buckley, and Toni Trucks.

“We are very excited to welcome SEAL Team back for another season on Paramount+,” said Clemens. “The show’s loyal fanbase followed the series to its new exclusive home, and it has proven to be a high-performing title for the service, consistently in the top 10 most-watched original series. We can’t wait for the fans to see what our brilliant creative team has in store for Team Bravo next season!”

SEAL Team is produced by CBS Studios and executive-produced by Spencer Hudnut, Christopher Chulack, Sarah Timberman, Carl Beverly, Mark Owen, and David Boreanaz.
