With just one week to go until the launch of Final Fantasy VII Remake (pre-order at Amazon), Square Enix is making the digital pre-load available starting today on the PlayStation Store to ensure that players are ready to jump straight in to the streets of Midgar when the game releases worldwide on April 10.
With “many people having to stay at home, some of you may be experiencing extra pressure on your internet bandwidth. We wanted to give all our fans some extra time to download the game,” said the game’s producer, Yoshinori Kitase.
In addition, Square unveiled the final trailer for Final Fantasy VII Remake which reveals familiar faces, new characters and epic scenes from late in the game. You can watch the trailer using the player below.
The Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo is now available to PlayStation 4 owners across the globe, allowing players to experience the opening chapter from the game. Those who download the demo before May 11, 2020 will also receive an exclusive PlayStation 4 theme when the full game launches.
In Final Fantasy VII Remake, players will be drawn into a world where the Shinra Electric Power Company, a shadowy corporation, controls the planet’s very life force. Cloud Strife, a former member of Shinra’s elite SOLDIER unit now turned mercenary, lends his aid to an anti-Shinra organization calling themselves Avalanche.
The first game in the project is set in the city of Midgar, and is a fully standalone gaming experience designed for RPG players that crave unforgettable characters, a powerful story and the ability to choose their style of play with a battle system that merges thrilling real-time action with strategic, command-based combat.
Last month, Square Enix debuted the opening movie for the Final Fantasy VII Remake. The footage showcases the gorgeous visuals of the eclectic city of Midgar, backed by newly-orchestrated music.
Fans will get to experience the music from Final Fantasy VII Remake live during the recently-announced Orchestra World Tour starting in Los Angeles this June (pending current events).
Further concerts will take place in San Francisco, Fort Worth, Atlanta, Phoenix, New York, Chicago, Denver, Nashville and Boston with more dates and cities to be announced soon.
The concerts will feature music from the game’s soundtrack performed by a majestic orchestra and full chorus, all conducted by GRAMMY Award winner Arnie Roth known for his work on Distant Worlds: music from FINAL FANTASY. For more concert and ticketing information, visit FFVII-RemakeConcerts.com.
