The Black Widow movie was officially announced last night as part of Marvel Studios’ Phase 4, and now we’re getting another sneak peek at the anticipated May 1, 2020 release. Marvel Studios Director of Visual Development & Concept Artist Andy Park has shared a first look at concept art of Black Widow fighting Taskmaster in the film!
“Check out this 1st reveal of the keyframe illustration I did for The Black Widow film… & TASKMASTER!!!” he says in his social posts.
In the comics, Taskmaster has used his talent to become the Marvel Universe’s premier trainer for the criminal world and government. He’s a prodigious savant of skills with mnemonic talents psychiatrists called “Photographic Reflexes.” You can learn a lot more about the character at Marvel.com.
Currently in production, Black Widow is directed by Cate Shortland and stars Scarlett Johansson, reprising her role of Natasha Romanoff, as well as newcomers to the Marvel Cinematic Universe David Harbour as Alexei aka The Red Guardian, Florence Pugh as Yelena, O-T Fagbenle as Mason, and Rachel Weisz as Melina.
It’s been previously said that Black Widow will be an internationally-set story centering on Natasha Romanoff, a spy and assassin who grew up being trained by the KGB before breaking from their grasp and becoming an agent of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Avenger.
