Superboy to Be Played by Joshua Orpin on Titans

Warner Bros. Television today announced that Joshua Orpin will play Superboy in the second season of DC Universe‘s Titans. In the after credits of the first season, a faceless Superboy was seen breaking out of Cadmus with Krypto.

In the series, Superboy (aka Conner Kent) is the angsty teenager of steel searching for purpose and the truth about his past. While looking for answers, he crashes into the world of the Titans where he finds an unlikely home and surrogate family as well as revelations that carry more complications than he ever bargained for.

Conner Kent was introduced in 1993 in the aftermath of The Death of Superman. One of four newly-risen “Supermen,” Conner ultimately proved to be heroic, despite possessing human DNA from Lex Luthor as well as his Kryptonian DNA from Kal-El. He’d go on to fight alongside the Man of Steel as Superboy after his return and was one of the founding members of Young Justice, a team that has recently returned to the DC Universe along with Conner.

From executive producers Akiva Goldsman (Star Trek: Discovery), Geoff Johns (Arrow), Greg Berlanti (The Flash), Greg Walker (Extant), Sarah Schechter (Supergirl) and John Fawcett (Orphan Black), Titans follows a group of young heroes from across the DC Universe as they come of age and find belonging in a gritty take on the classic Teen Titans franchise. Dick Grayson and Rachel Roth, a special young girl possessed by a strange darkness, get embroiled in a conspiracy that could bring Hell on Earth. Joining them along the way are the hot-headed Starfire and loveable Beast Boy. Together they become a surrogate family and team of heroes.

Titans stars Brenton Thwaites (Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales) as Dick Grayson/Robin, Teagan Croft (Home and Away) as Raven, Anna Diop (24: Legacy) as Koriand’r/Starfire, Alan Ritchson (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles) and Minka Kelly (Friday Night Lights) as Hawk and Dove, Bruno Bichir as Dr. Niles Caulder, and Lindsey Gort as Police Detective Amy Rohrbach.

Titans comes from Weed Road Pictures and Berlanti Productions in association with Warner Bros. Television.
