Steenburgen, Garber, Brie, Plaza and Levy Join Happiest Season

-

TriStar Pictures and Entertainment One announced today that Academy Award-winning actress Mary Steenburgen (Book Club, Zoey’s Extraordinary Playlist), six time Emmy-nominated actor Victor Garber (Argo), Golden Globe-nominated actress Alison Brie (Glow), Independent Spirit Award winner Aubrey Plaza (Ingrid Goes West) and Emmy Award nominee Dan Levy (Schitt’s Creek) have joined Kristen Stewart and Mackenzie Davis in the modern holiday romantic comedy, Happiest Season.

The film, directed by Clea DuVall and written by DuVall & Mary Holland, is slated for release nationwide on November 20, 2020.

Happiest Season captures the story of a young woman (Stewart) whose plan to propose to her girlfriend (Davis) while at her family’s annual holiday party is upended when she discovers her partner hasn’t yet come out to her conservative parents (Steenburgen and Garber).

Rounding out the strong ensemble cast are Ana Gasteyer (The Goldbergs, Saturday Night Live, Wine Country), Burl Moseley (Crazy Ex-Girlfriend), Sarayu Blue (Blockers, To All the Boys: P.S. I Still Love You), Jake McDorman (What We Do in the Shadows) and DuVall’s writing partner Holland.

The film is being produced by Marty Bowen and Isaac Klausner. Jonathan McCoy and Wyck Godfrey will executive produce. It will be shot on location in Pittsburgh, PA.

TriStar Pictures will release the film worldwide, with the exception of the United Kingdom and Canada, which will be handled by eOne.
