Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker Runtime and the Script Was on eBay!

-

In addition to the first clipspecial look, and TV spot, director J.J. Abrams was a guest on both EWLive on SiriusXM and Good Morning America. To the former, he revealed that the Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker runtime is two hours and 21 minutes, which makes it the third-longest Star Wars movie after The Last Jedi (152 minutes) and Attack of the Clones (142 minutes).

To GMA, Abrams mentioned that one of the actors (UPDATE: It was John Boyega!) accidentally left his or her script under their bed where a cleaner found it. That cleaner then gave the script to another person, who put it on eBay. Luckily the production was able to get the script back before it was sold. The filmmaker said that they just finished the movie this weekend as well.

Also, to both outlets he talked about how they incorporated Carrie Fisher’s deleted scenes from The Force Awakens into The Rise of Skywalker. You can watch Abrams talk about those scenes in the players below.

Lucasfilm and director J.J. Abrams join forces once again to take viewers on an epic journey to a galaxy far, far away with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, where new legends will be born and the final battle for freedom is yet to come.

Abrams co-wrote the screenplay with Chris Terrio. The film stars Carrie Fisher, Mark Hamill, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Anthony Daniels, Naomi Ackie, Domhnall Gleeson, Richard E. Grant, Lupita Nyong’o, Keri Russell, Joonas Suotamo, Kelly Marie Tran, and Billy Dee Williams, who will reprise his role as Lando Calrissian.

Composer John Williams, who has scored every chapter in the Star Wars saga since 1977’s A New Hope, returns to a galaxy far, far away with The Rise of Skywalker. The movie is produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Michelle Rejwan, and executive produced by Callum Greene and Jason McGatlin.
