Showtime has announced the movies, TV shows and sports programming coming to the service in January. The Showtime January 2022 lineup includes the season finale of the special event series Dexter: New Blood .
Nearly 10 years after Dexter Morgan went missing, he’s been living under a new name in the small town of Iron Lake, NY, with his son, Harrison. Hoping for some normalcy, he discovers that Iron Lake is not as normal as he thought it was.

Yellowjackets also concludes its popular first season with a buzzworthy finale in January. The hit psychological thriller tells the saga of how a high-school girls soccer team descends into savagery after its plane crashes in the remote wilderness. On the night of the girls’ 25-year class reunion, they navigate damning evidence, false alibis and a dubious attempt to “heal.”
New year, new king, new war and new rules: The long-awaited return of Billions is finally here with the season six premiere. With Axe (Damian Lewis) gone and Michael Prince (Corey Stoll) assuming his place, Chuck (Paul Giamatti) must sharpen his strategy.

The Showtime January 2022 slate also includes the premiere of much-anticipated Ray Donovan: The Movie, which picks up where season seven left off with Ray (Liev Schreiber) determined to find and stop Mickey (Jon Voight) before he can cause any more carnage.
Closing the month, We Need to Talk About Cosby wrestles with the conversations of the #MeToo movement, focusing on Bill Cosby’s downfall from “America’s Dad” to alleged sexual predator. Directed by W. Kamau Bell, who grew up on Cosby, the series reveals who Cosby may have been all along – the antithesis of a man who was a hero not only to African Americans but to all people.

Showtime Sports presents ShoBox: The New Generation with an exciting tripleheader displaying hot talent from top to bottom. The event marks the first time ShoBox has featured a tripleheader, in which all six fighters enter fight night without a loss throughout the series’ 20-plus year history. In a Premier Boxing Champions event on Saturday, January 22, WBC Featherweight World Champion Gary Russell Jr. defends his world title and will display his blistering hand speed against top contender and WBC mandatory challenger Mark Magsayo.
On Saturday, January 29, Bellator MMA 273: Bader vs. Moldavsky features Heavyweight World Champion Ryan Bader as he returns to the division to face Interim Heavyweight Kingpin Valentin Moldavsky in a long-awaited, live title-unification bout.

This January, the streamer highlights “12 Films to Match the Mood of Mercury in Retrograde” with films like Midsommar and Swiss Army Man and a Liev Schreiber film collection, including The Manchurian Candidate, The Reluctant Fundamentalist and Lee Daniels’ The Butler.

SHOWTIME JANUARY 2022 ORIGINALS
DEXTER: NEW BLOOD – Season Finale: Sunday, January 9
Set 10 years after Dexter (Michael C. Hall) went missing in the eye of Hurricane Laura, the series finds him living under an assumed name in the small town of Iron Lake, NY. Dexter may be embracing his new life, but in the wake of unexpected events in this close-knit community, his Dark Passenger beckons.
In the season finale, Dexter and his son, Harrison (Jack Alcott), try to live a normal life in a place that they have discovered is not as normal as they thought it was. Will the two be able to live happily ever after despite all the threats coming their way?

RAY DONOVAN: THE MOVIE – Original Movie Premiere: Friday, January 14
Ray Donovan: The Movie picks up where season seven left off with Mickey on the run and Ray determined to find and stop him before he can cause any more carnage.
It weaves together the present-day fallout from the Donovan/Sullivan feud with Ray and Mickey’s origin story from 30 years ago.

YELLOWJACKETS – Season Finale: Sunday, January 16
Equal parts survival epic, psychological horror story and coming-of-age drama, Yellowjackets is the saga of a team of wildly talented high-school girls’ soccer players who become the (un)lucky survivors of a plane crash deep in the remote northern wilderness.
The series chronicles their descent from a complicated but thriving team to savage clans while also tracking the lives they’ve attempted to piece back together nearly 25 years later. On the night of the girls’ 25-year class reunion, they navigate damning evidence, false alibis and a dubious attempt to “heal.” The past never is really in the past, and what began out in the wilderness is far from over.

BILLIONS – Season Premiere: Sunday, January 23
New king, new war and new rules: In season six of Billions, the dust from the prior season clears to reveal a world that has evolved. With Axe (Damian Lewis) gone and Michael Prince (Corey Stoll) assuming his place, Chuck (Paul Giamatti) must develop a new strategy that is keener and more sophisticated than before.
All the players, including Wags (David Costabile), Wendy (Maggie Siff), Taylor (Asia Kate Dillon), Sacker (Condola Rashad) and Senior (Jeffrey DeMunn), must sharpen their weapons and look for new alliances in order to survive. The ground is ever shifting, and the stakes are absolute.

WE NEED TO TALK ABOUT COSBY – Four-part Docuseries Premiere: Sunday, January 30
A four-part docuseries directed by W. Kamau Bell, We Need to Talk About Cosby wrestles with the conversations of the #MeToo movement, focusing on Bill Cosby’s descent from “America’s Dad” to alleged sexual predator. The series explores the complex story of Cosby’s life and work, weighing his actions against his indisputable global influence through interviews with comedians, cultural commentators, journalists and women who share their most personal, harrowing encounters with Cosby.
Through archival footage, Cosby reveals who he may have been all along – the antithesis of the principled, public figure who became a hero, not only to African American people but to all people. Peeling back complex layers of the African American icon, We Need to Talk About Cosby offers viewers the chance to reconsider his mark in a society where rape culture, toxic masculinity, capitalism and white supremacy is shaping how we re-evaluate sex, power and agency.
