Ryan Murphy Reveals Title for American Horror Story Season 9

Ryan Murphy has revealed the title of the upcoming American Horror Story Season 9 on his Instagram page. The season will be called AHS: 1984 and from the video, it appears that it will pay tribute to the horror films of the 1980s. You can check out the video below.

As you can see, it features a young woman running away from a killer, as they did in so many ’80s films from Halloween to Friday the 13th. This particular killer has a very large knife. There haven’t been very many cast announcements outside of Emma Roberts and Olympic gold medalist Gus Kenworthy. Evan Peters recently revealed that he won’t be back for American Horror Story Season 9.

Last fall, the series was renewed for two more seasons, which will bring it to Season 10. AHS: 1984 will premiere this fall, according to the video. We’ll keep you informed on any upcoming cast announcements.

Season 8 of the series, entitled American Horror Story: Apocalypse, included cast members Sarah Paulson, Kathy Bates, Evan Peters, Adina Porter, Emma Roberts, Cheyenne Jackson, Billy Eichner, Leslie Grossman, Cody Fern, Billie Lourd, Taissa Farmiga, Gabourey Sidibe, Lily Rabe, Frances Conroy, Stevie Nicks, Connie Britton, Dylan McDermott, and Joan Collins.
