Paramount+ April 2023 Movies, TV Series and Sports

Paramount has announced the movies, TV shows and sports coming to the Paramount+ streaming service in April. The Paramount Plus April 2023 lineup includes Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies, Fatal Attraction, and the second seasons of Rugrats and Mike Judge’s Beavis and Butt-Head.

The Paramount Plus April 2023 slate also includes a live stream of the CMT Music Awards, featuring showstopping country music performances.

Beginning April 11, soccer fans can watch unparalleled coverage of all the top domestic and international soccer competitions with the debut of the CBS Sports Golazo Network, a first-of-its-kind, 24-hour direct-to-consumer digital network in the U.S. dedicated exclusively to global soccer coverage.

The lineup will include the new weekday show Morning Footy, select live matches and re-airs from CBS Sports’ collection of top-tier soccer leagues and competitions from around the world and more.

Celebrate Earth Day on April 20 with thought-provoking documentaries on Paramount+ such as the upcoming CBS Reports special Eating Trash: The Chefs Turning Food Waste Into Trendy Eats. Other compelling documentaries in the collection include Wasteland, Bring Your Own Brigade and Into the Wild.

You can then experience the wonders of our planet with visually-stunning Smithsonian Channel films such as Aerial America, Epic Yellowstone and David Attenborough’s Great Barrier Reef.

Missing the adventures of Ilana and Abby? The streaming service will welcome all five seasons of the hilarious Comedy Central sitcom Broad City in April.

FBI, FBI: International and FBI: Most Wanted join forces to take on a high-stakes bi-continental case when the abduction of an American citizen in Rome reveals an international plot to carry out a mass-casualty terror attack in New York City. Watch the teams work together in an action-packed three-hour global crossover event on April 4.

Paramount+ Premium subscribers will have access to CBS titles to stream live via the live feed of their local CBS affiliate on the service as well as on-demand. Essential tier subscribers have access to these titles on-demand the day after they air.

PARAMOUNT+ HIGHLIGHTS

GREASE: RISE OF THE PINK LADIES (Premiering April 6)
Grease is, once again, the word. In April, audiences will return to Rydell High for a new fun-filled journey that celebrates the sounds of the 1950s, musical theater and the spirit of youthful rebellion with the Paramount+ Original series. The new series draws inspiration from the stories of many women from all walks of life who attended high school in the 1950s, including the grandmas and aunties of members of the show’s writers’ room.

A theme that resonates just as powerfully today as it did then is the struggle to express yourself while the world around you tries to put you in a box. The leading “Pink Ladies” themselves have diverse backgrounds, including Asian, Latina and non-binary, and are excited to see their own stories set to music in the show.

FATAL ATTRACTION (Premiering April 30)
Audiences will be on the edge of their seats for the premiere of the Paramount+ Original drama series “Fatal Attraction,” starring Joshua Jackson, Lizzy Caplan and Amanda Peet. Showrunner Alexandra Cunningham takes the iconic 1980s psychological thriller in new directions, touching on the timeless themes of marriage and infidelity through the lens of modern attitudes toward strong women, personality disorders and coercive control.

In a major twist, the show will tell its story in two parallel timelines: during the events surrounding the affair between Alex (Caplan) and Dan (Jackson) as it unfolds, as well as 15 years later when Dan has been released from prison and must try to repair his relationship with his daughter Ellen (Alyssa Jirrels), who is now all grown up.

Taking on the role of Alex, played by Glenn Close in the original film, Caplan worked with a clinical psychologist in order to create a complex portrayal of the effects of borderline personality disorder as well as the debilitating stresses of a high-profile career.

Succeeding Michael Douglas as Dan, Jackson was interested in communicating the profound effects of imprisonment and the weight of what he has put his family through. It all adds up to a captivating, combustible ride you won’t want to miss.
