Nope Trailer Has Things Not of Planet Earth

Universal Pictures has revealed the official trailer for Nope ahead of the film’s Super Bowl spot! You can watch the trailer on YouTube.

“What’s a bad miracle?” Oscar winner Jordan Peele disrupted and redefined modern horror with Get Out and then Us. Now, he reimagines the summer movie with a new pop nightmare: the expansive horror epic, Nope.

The film reunites Peele with Oscar winner Daniel Kaluuya (Get Out, Judas and the Black Messiah), who is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice) and Oscar nominee Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.

The film will be released by Universal Pictures on July 22, 2022.

Nope, which co-stars Michael Wincott (Hitchcock, Westworld) and Brandon Perea (The OA, American Insurrection), is written and directed by Jordan Peele.

The anticipated movie is produced by Ian Cooper (Us, Candyman) and Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw.

Released in February 2017, Get Out stars Kaluuya as Chris, a young African-American man who visits his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family estate and becomes ensnared in the more sinister, real reason for the invitation.

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Peele’s second film as a writer and director was Us, which was released in March 2019.

In the movie, starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Winston Duke (Black Panther), an endearing American family is pitted against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves.
