Nope Film Releases New Spot and Featurettes

Universal Pictures has released a new TV spot and two behind-the-scenes featurettes for Jordan Peele’s anticipated Nope film, which will be opening in theaters on July 22. You can watch the new videos by scrolling down, and you’ll find the previously-released character posters underneath.

“What’s a bad miracle?” Oscar winner Jordan Peele disrupted and redefined modern horror with Get Out and then Us. Now, he reimagines the summer movie with a new pop nightmare: the expansive horror epic, Nope.

The Nope film reunites Peele with Daniel Kaluuya, who starred in the filmmaker’s Get Out and won an Oscar for Judas and the Black Messiah. Kaluuya also plays W’Kabi in the Black Panther movies.

The actor is joined by Keke Palmer (Hustlers, Alice) and Oscar nominee Steven Yeun (Minari, Okja) as residents in a lonely gulch of inland California who bear witness to an uncanny and chilling discovery.

Nope, which co-stars Michael Wincott (Hitchcock, Westworld) and Brandon Perea (The OA, American Insurrection), is written and directed by Jordan Peele.

The film is produced by Ian Cooper (Us, Candyman) and Jordan Peele for Monkeypaw.

Released in February 2017, Get Out stars Kaluuya as Chris, a young African-American man who visits his white girlfriend’s (Allison Williams) family estate and becomes ensnared in the more sinister, real reason for the invitation.

At first, Chris reads the family’s overly accommodating behavior as nervous attempts to deal with their daughter’s interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he could have never imagined.

Peele’s second film as a writer and director was Us, which was released in March 2019.

In the movie, starring Oscar winner Lupita Nyong’o (12 Years a Slave) and Winston Duke (Black Panther), an endearing American family is pitted against a terrifying and uncanny opponent: doppelgängers of themselves.
