NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139 Announced by Square Enix

NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… invites players into a dark, apocalyptic world as they join a brother’s captivating quest to cure his sister of a deadly disease – a quest which will in turn make them question everything.

Developed in collaboration with Toylogic, NieR Replicant ver.1.22474487139… brings together an all-star team, including acclaimed director Yoko Taro (Drakengard, NieR:Automata), composer Keiichi Okabe (Tekken, Drakengard, NieR:Automata), and producer Yosuke Saito (Dragon Quest X, NieR:Automata).

Nier was released for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in April of 2010 and was a spinoff of the Drakengard series. An alternate version, titled NieR Replicant, was also released for the PlayStation 3 with a younger main character.

The original action adventure game was set in a crumbling world plagued by disease and dark, unrecognizable creatures. Players assume the role of the unyielding protagonist, Nier, resolute in his quest to discover a cure for his daughter, who is infected with the Black Scrawl virus. With powerful allies and a mysterious book, Nier encounters things that will confound even the mightiest of warriors.

The more popular sequel, NieR:Automata, was released for the PlayStation 4 in February of 2017 and came to the PC in March of that year, while the Xbox One version debuted with the “Become as Gods” edition that June.

NieR:Automata tells the story of androids 2B, 9S and A2 and their battle to reclaim the machine-driven dystopia overrun by powerful mechanoids.

In the game, invaders from another world attack without warning, unleashing their secret weapon: the machines. In the face of this insurmountable threat, the human race is driven from the earth and takes refuge on the moon.

The humans develop an army of android soldiers to fight back against the mechanical horde, but succeed only in slowing its advance. To break the deadlock, a new breed of android infantry is sent into the fray: the YoRHa squad.

In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. A war that is soon to unveil the long-forgotten truth of this world…
