New Trailer and Poster for The Lighthouse Debut

A24 has debuted the new trailer and poster for The Lighthouse, which opens in theaters this October. From Robert Eggers, the visionary filmmaker behind modern horror masterpiece The Witch, comes this hypnotic and hallucinatory tale of two lighthouse keepers on a remote and mysterious New England island in the 1890s.

Willem DafoeRobert Pattinson, and Valeriia Karaman star in the film, directed by Robert Eggers. The Lighthouse was written by Eggers and his brother, Max Eggers. The producers include Rodrigo Teixeira, Jay Van Hoy, Robert Eggers, Lourenço Sant’ Anna, and Youree Henley.

The film had its world premiere on May 19, 2019 in the Directors’ Fortnight section at the Cannes Film Festival, where it received critical acclaim. It also screened at the Toronto International Film Festival this weekend.

The Lighthouse is scheduled to open in New York and Los Angeles on October 18, 2019. A24 will distribute the film in the United States and Universal Pictures and Focus Features will handle the international distribution. Rated R, the film runs for 108 minutes.

Principal photography began on April 9, 2018. Filming took place at Leif Ericson Park in Cape Forchu, and inside a hangar at Yarmouth International Airport, in Yarmouth, Nova Scotia, Canada. The movie was shot on black and white 35mm film.
