Prepare to be scared. There is a new film in the Paranormal Activity franchise on the way, according to Deadline. At the CineEurope event in Barcelona today, Paramount Pictures studio Chairman and CEO Jim Gianopulos said, “We are partnering with uber horror producer Jason Blum to bring a new installment of ‘Paranormal Activity.’” There are no details on the film yet, though we’ll keep you updated as news breaks. This would be the seventh film in the franchise.
Paranormal Activity is a franchise created in 2007 by Oren Pell that has six films, including Paranormal Activity 1-4 as well as The Marked Ones and The Ghost Dimension.
In addition, the site reports that A Quiet Place 2 has begun production. The release date is currently March 30, 2020. A Quiet Place 2 will feature Emily Blunt, Millicent Simmonds and Noah Jupe reprising their roles, while Cillian Murphy (Peaky Blinders, Dunkirk, The Dark Knight trilogy) is joining the cast as a man with mysterious intentions who joins the family.
A Quiet Place opened in April 2018 and grossed an impressive $340.9 million worldwide on a budget of just $17 million. In the modern horror thriller, a family of four must navigate their lives in silence after mysterious creatures that hunt by sound threaten their survival.
