The Netflix series The Crown has cast Camilla Shand for Season 3. The show tweeted today that actress Emerald Fennell (The Danish Girl, Call the Midwife) has taken on the role of Prince Charles’ second wife and the woman who he’s had an on and off relationship with since they met in the early 1970s. You can check out the tweet below.
Camilla Shand married Andrew Parker Bowles, though they divorced in 1995. An affair between she and the Prince was cited as one of the reasons that Prince Charles and Princess Diana divorced before Diana’s death in 1997. She married Charles in 2005 and is now styled the Duchess of Cornwall.
Emerald Fennell is known for playing Elsa in The Danish Girl with Eddie Redmayne and Nurse Patsy Mount in the TV series Call the Midwife. She also played the Commander in the movie Pan.
