Giacchino Returning for the Spider-Man: Far From Home Score

Film Music Reporter has learned that Spider-Man: Homecoming composer Michael Giacchino is returning to create the Spider-Man: Far From Home score, which is great news indeed. Before he scored Homecoming, also did the score for Marvel Cinematic Universe entry Doctor Strange.

Giacchino received an Emmy Award, Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe Award, and an Oscar for his work on Up. Just this year, he’s completed the scores for Incredibles 2Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, and Bad Times at the El Royale.

The Spider-Man: Far From Home cast includes Tom Holland again in the title role, Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Angourie Rice, Tony Revolori, Marisa Tomei, Jake Gyllenhaal, JB Smoove, Numan Acar, Remy Hii, and Michael Keaton. The sequel opens in theaters on July 5, 2019.

Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and Cobie Smulders’ Maria Hill will also appear in the film.

Jon Watts is directing again from a script by Erik Sommers and Chris McKenna. Kevin Feige and Amy Pascal are producing the film. The sequel will take Peter Parker to Europe.

Spider-Man: Homecoming opened on in July of 2017 and grossed $880 million worldwide, with $334.2 million coming from North America and $545.9 million from overseas markets.
