Lucifer Season 5 Release Date Set for August

Netflix today announced the Lucifer Season 5 release date with a “Lucifer’s Sexiest Moments” video you can watch below. “And now, for your viewing enjoyment, we present 66.6 seconds of Lucifer’s hottest, sexiest, most downright devilish moments,” said the streaming service.

On August 21, 2020, fans will get to watch the first eight episodes of the fifth season. The fifth season will consist of 16 episodes, but we’ll have to wait and see when the second part of the season will be released on Netflix.

Netflix hasn’t officially announced a sixth season of Lucifer, although star Tom Ellis has closed a deal to return as the title character. Executive producers Joe Henderson and Ildy Modrovich will also return.

When it was thought that the show was not continuing after the fifth season, Henderson and Modrovich said: “We are so incredibly thankful to Netflix for resurrecting our show last season and now letting us finish the story of Lucifer on our terms… The best is yet to come!!”

The 10-episode fourth season launched on Netflix May 8, 2019. The series is the story of the original fallen angel. Bored and unhappy as the Lord of Hell, Lucifer Morningstar abandoned his throne and retired to the City of Angels where he has teamed up with LAPD detective Chloe Decker to take down criminals.

Charming, charismatic and devilishly handsome, Lucifer has a way of manipulating people into confessing their deepest, darkest secrets, which helps Chloe deliver justice. But Lucifer quickly discovered that Chloe makes him vulnerable. When he’s around her, the devil can bleed like anyone else.

It’s a truly scary realization that doesn’t sit well with his best friend, Mazikeen aka Maze, a fierce demon in the form of a beautiful young woman. Maze wants nothing more than to leave Los Angeles and get back to her life in Hell, but Lucifer is having one hell of a good time with the mortals, and she is not about to leave him behind.

The Warner Bros. Television series stars Tom Ellis, Lauren German, Rachael Harris, DB Woodside, Lesley-Ann Brandt, Kevin Alejandro, and Scarlett Estevez.
