Licorice Pizza Trailer Reveals Paul Thomas Anderson’s Latest

MGM and Focus Features have revealed the official trailer for Licorice Pizza, the highly-anticipated new movie from filmmaker Paul Thomas Anderson.

Licorice Pizza is rated R for language, sexual material, and some drug use. The film will open in select theaters on November 26, 2021.

Licorice Pizza is the story of Alana Kane (Alana Haim of the pop rock band Haim) and Gary Valentine (Cooper Hoffman, son of Phillip Seymour Hoffman) growing up, running around and falling in love in the San Fernando Valley, 1973.

Written and Directed by Paul Thomas Anderson, the film tracks the treacherous navigation of first love. The cast also includes Sean Penn, Tom Waits, Bradley Cooper, Benny Safdie.

The producers are Sara Murphy, Paul Thomas Anderson, and Adam Somner. The executive producers include Joanne Sellar, Daniel Lupi, Susan McNamara, Aaron L. Gilbert, and Jason Cloth.

Presented by Metro Goldwyn Mayer Pictures and Focus Features, the P.T. Anderson pictures was developed in association with BRON Creative. It is a Ghoulardi Film Company production.

The movie marks Paul Thomas Anderson’s ninth film, following Hard Eight (1996), Boogie Nights (1997), Magnolia (1999), Punch-Drunk Love (2002), There Will Be Clood (2007), The Master (2012), Inherent Vice (2014) and Phantom Thread (2017).

Anderson has been nominated for eight Academy Awards, one Golden Globe Award, and five BAFTA Awards. He has won a Best Director Award at Cannes, both a Golden and a Silver Bear at Berlin, and a Silver Lion at Venice.
