BBC America today announced three new additions to the cast of its hit drama Killing Eve, which returns for the second season in Spring 2019. Nina Sosanya (Good Omens) and Edward Bluemel (A Discovery of Witches) join Killing Eve cast members Sandra Oh, Jodie Comer, and Fiona Shaw, while Julian Barratt (Mindhorn) will guest star.
The series, produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd and based on the Codename Villanelle novellas by Luke Jennings, is currently shooting in Europe.
Killing Eve capped its incredible first season with an unbroken record of weekly ratings growth in the key adults 25-54 and 18-49 demos – something no other show on television has accomplished in more than a decade. Sandra Oh has been nominated for an Emmy® in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category and Phoebe Waller-Bridge has been nominated for Outstanding Writing for a Drama Series. The series was named Best New Show by the Television Critics Association.
Killing Eve was commissioned in 2016 for BBC America by President and GM Sarah Barnett, and Nena Rodrigue, EVP of Original Programming, Acquisitions and Production.
Killing Eve is executive produced by Sally Woodward Gentle, Lee Morris, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Gina Mingacci and Emerald Fennell. Sandra Oh is co-executive producer. Elinor Day serves as series producer. The series is produced by Sid Gentle Films Ltd. and distributed by Endeavor Content. Damon Thomas returns to direct and is also executive producer, with Lisa Brühlmann and Francesca Gregorini also directing.
