Matthew Vaughn (Kingsman, Kick-Ass, Layer Cake) is setting up his new company Marv Studios and revealed to Empire Magazine that he is planning a reboot of the Kick-Ass films. “We’re going to reboot Kick-Ass and Hit-Girl,” Vaughn said. “Look what Mark Millar is doing with the comic for clues.”
According to the magazine, Vaughn hinted that Patience Lee, an African-American single mother who’s taken on the vigilante mantle, could be the protagonist. A solo Hit-Girl film is also in discussion, and could either focus on an older or younger Mindy Macready.
Vaughn added that a third Kingsman movie is in development and will be “the conclusion of the Harry Hart-Eggsy relationship.” A spin-off movie, titled Kingsman: The Great Game, is also in the works and will explore the spy organization in the early 1900s.
Also on the way will be an eight-hour Kingsman TV show, and a Statesman film following the world of Channing Tatum, Jeff Bridges and Halle Berry’s American agents.
