Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom Box Office Crosses $400M Domestically

With yesterday’s grosses, Universal Pictures and Amblin Entertainment’s Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom crossed $400 million at the domestic box office. The film has now grossed $846.7 million from international territories—where it opened No. 1 in 68 markets—and $400.8 million in North America, bringing the worldwide total to $1.248 billion.

With today’s grosses, summer titles including Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, The First Purge, Skyscraper and Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again have propelled Universal past $2 billion at the international box office and the studio has reached $3.14 billion worldwide.

Earlier this summer, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom was the No. 1 movie at the international box office for four straight weeks—including two weeks in China, where it is the second-highest-grossing imported film this year and the fifth-highest-grossing import of all-time (with $260 million)—No. 1 at the global box office for three weeks, and held the No. 1 position in North America for two weeks.

The film is now Universal’s second-highest grossing film ever at the domestic box office, only behind 2015’s Jurassic World, and the studio’s third-highest grossing film ever worldwide behind Jurassic World and Furious 7. It’s also 2018’s second-biggest movie at the international box office, third-biggest at the global box office, and fourth-biggest at the domestic box office.

Stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard return alongside executive producers Steven Spielberg and Colin Trevorrow for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. They are joined by co-stars James Cromwell, Ted Levine, Justice Smith, Geraldine Chaplin, Daniella Pineda, Toby Jones, Rafe Spall and Isabella Sermon, while BD Wong and Jeff Goldblum reprise their roles.

Directed by J.A. Bayona (The Impossible), the epic action-adventure is written by Jurassic World’s director, Trevorrow, and its co-writer, Derek Connolly. Producers Frank Marshall and Pat Crowley once again partner with Spielberg and Trevorrow in leading the filmmakers for this stunning installment. Belén Atienza joins the team as a producer.
